A day in the life of a problogger

Arquivado em: Uncategorized

Okay, now that I got your attention, I must say that I am not, actually, a problogger, because I don’t make a living just from my blogs. But I’m on my way, and at least half of my money I earn by blogging.

A friend of mine asked by e-mail:

— Don’ t you sleep? It doesn’t matter what time is it, there is always a reply from you!

Then I decided to tell a typical day in my life, despite I don’t have a hard routine to follow. As everyday begins at midnight, my story begins at this time too, last Friday. Of course I was in front of my PC, reading and writing e-mails, and talking to some people via MSN. Usually I am a bit tired after midnight, then I don’t write anything (but today is an exception, it is 2am and I am writing this post). If I read something that is worth a post, I save it to my bookmarks in a folder named “blog about”.

I read all my Bloglines feeds, made some comments on some blogs, and went to bed at 3am. It was 8am when I woke up. I took a shower, had my breakfast and came to the PC again. I always check my AdSense earnings from the previous day as soon as I get up. They make my day better.

Friday was very hot, then I had another shower, and took a bus to the mall. I was going to meet a friend for lunch. I had not seen his new laptop, yet, and… well, you know how geeks are… We had a wonderful lunch, talked a lot, laughed a lot.

At 1pm my friend went to his work, and I took my bag and my way to a client of mine. I spent four hours there, working on the laptop, and at 6pm I was at home again. Another shower, a quick dinner, and again in front of the PC. I wrote until 10pm, moderated some comments (I do it all the time, when I’m online), and read Bloglines again. At midnight I was tired again, but kept on MSN and writing e-mails until 3am, when my day finally ended.

But, please, don’t think, I repeat, that everyday is equal to other. No way. That’s what makes this job specially great. For next Monday I plan a customer for the morning, a lunch with some friends, a client for the afternoon, and blogging until 3am again. For Tuesday I plan working from home for a customer in the morning, and going to the movies at the afternoon; I will come home by walking, if the weather permits. For Wednesday I will be at home the whole day. And I don’t know what I am going to do be doing next Thursday. I don’t like being that predictable. ;-)

It’s a great initiative writing a blog in english. I want to start one but my english is not what we can say as a “aceptable english”.

I think this week I’ll take courage and get the new blog. We’re going to see if i can learn english doing that!

Brother, just do it. You will profit a lot, and I’m talking about money also.

Of course I think my English seems like giberish, but people want content, and they are not looking for typos or mistakes. We are the paranoids, not our readers.

Nice to see that you made the very first comment in this new blog. :-D
